Once you’ve got the box open and ready to go, let’s look at how easy the NexStar 8SE is to set up and get operational.

It has never been so easy to align a telescope: no spirit levels, aligning with the North Pole, compass, or finding of Polaris is necessary (a balcony observatory). We also provide an edition of the exciting astronomy magazine, “Sterne und Weltraum” with each telescope.

EclipSmart solar products feature Solar Safe filter technology providing the ultimate protection from harmful solar radiation, including both IR and UV light, and filters 99. The Celestron StarSense Explorer Dob is a clever upgrade to a traditional 8″ Dobsonian telescope, thanks to its integrated smartphone app that helps you find objects in the night sky. For planetary imaging, there’s no better choice than a NexStar 8SE paired with one of our NexImage cameras.

Despite the excitement of a moving into a new house under Bortle Class 6 skies, I’ve had a rough start to the new year in terms of astrophotography. They have Celestron’s own Starbright XLT coating for better light transmission and, as should be the case with a well-constructed compound scope, there are almost no noticeable aberrations. The Starpointer finderscope is a weak, red-dot affair that only passes muster because you’ll almost exclusively rely on the computer to locate objects once you’re set up. Celestron’s signature orange-tube telescope combines advanced features and excellent optics in one easy-to-use system, the NexStar 6SE.The largest of the NexStar SE family with 78% more light gathering than a 6" model, the NexStar 8 SE will enable you to see deep into the Universe. Advice from owners is to attach the scope to the single-armed fork first (and on a soft surface like carpet to prevent scratches). The 8SE comes with a computerized tracking motor and it will keep objects in your eyepiece as they slowly move across the night sky.

You zoom in on the arrow as it shoots 45 degrees up into the sky and you perfectly track it as it reaches its apex, tilts down, and descends, sticking in the ground. I asked the AstroBackyard community on Facebook how they felt, and almost all of them had amazing things to say about this telescope. Diagonal mirrors provide an upright but back-to-front image and Amici prisms provide an upright and right-sided image.Your 8SE will arrive in boxes that are robust and adequate for storage and transporting, to begin with. If you’re in the market for a grab-and-go telescope (that excels in views of the moon and planets), I think you will enjoy my review of the Celestron NexStar 8SE. Two things to note versus the previous image: 1) The focal reducer changes the telescope’s f-stop from f/10 to f/6.
