As the festive season approaches, life at the exclusive hotel is busier than ever, with guests arriving from around the world, seeking comfort, relaxation and refuge as tensions build across Europe and it looks like another war is imminent.

In March 2007 Du Beke was a contestant on the BBC Two series The Underdog Show and was paired with homeless dog Ginger. From its beautiful cover on the hardcover edition I had this story pulled me into the glamour of the Buckingham, the ballroom and dancing, along with the horror of the war. The previous books have been set in the interwar years, a period I find intensely fascinating: it’s a time in history when things were changing so quickly but also when dance was such an important part of everyone’s lives. There are some beautifully observed scenes depicting Ray,Artie and Billy’s struggles to reach home shores which really pack an emotional punch.

Du Beke began dancing at 14, when he discovered his local dance school, the Holton School of Dancing in Sevenoaks. I hadn’t read any of the other books before it but you don’t really need to, it works well so that you don’t have to have read the other books. It was fantastic to catch up with the characters I've grown so fond of and to be introduced to new ones. The final stave, based around the Dunkirk evacuation and the preparation of what lay ahead was very emotional to read.

The evacuation of British troops at Dunkirk and heartbreaking scenes made for tearful reading as some of the stories are told. He continued: “After I did the first one, and we decided what we were going to do next, and decided to do a continuing story, well, the world becomes your oyster!

In 2009 he presented the United Kingdom version of Hole in the Wall for the BBC, replacing Dale Winton, after being a team captain in 2008. Anton is one of the most instantly recognisable TV personalities today best known for his role on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing which he has featured on since its inception in 2004. com – lots of photos and video clips to enjoy, and all our previous tours are featured for you to peruse. Working with my marvellous team, meeting brilliant booksellers and my amazing readers has been a competeand utter delight.

His debut album reached the Top 20 and his annual sell-out tours have been thrilling dance fans in theatres nationwide for over a decade. Raymond de Guise, home on leave and still affected by the death of his brother, is desperate to help so he joins a night watch.

Speaking about one particular recurring character in the series, Georges de la Motte, Anton revealed the real-life inspiration behind him. However, the process for writing this book was clearly different and the stylistic differences made it a thoroughly enjoyable read.
