Description

There are some big rumors about new Tau models alongside their upcoming codex and a brand new 40k Dark Angels Combat Patrol box! We mainly cover Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Warmachine, Hordes, X-Wing, Infinity, Horus Heresy, and Star Wars Armada. If this was a BA box with a new BA sprue instead of DA I'd probably pick it up and build a new fancy squad of intercessors with the new bling even though I have plenty of the basic old starter set guys. The old box really isn’t very exciting, but we’re not sure how much better the new one will be in terms of savings. Now that we’ve added in some flavor to the list we need to go back and fill out some of our core options.

all the recent boxes have been pretty light on value, so we wouldn’t be too surprised by an offering like this. It makes perfect sense from a GW point of view - keep the HQ out of the unit in combat patrol so you don't have a mini deathstar and have an extra independent piece and then also pushes the person moving on from combat patrol to get a gravis unit to escort the captain and leaves them open to any of the HQs to join the other squads. Haunted by their past, the Dark Angels and their successors – known collectively as the Unforgiven – wage a secret war for redemption, a millennia-long crusade of vengeance that will either lead to their final atonement… or eternal damnation. None fight with more grim determination than the battle-brothers of the Dark Angels, and their renowned specialised companies – the Deathwing and the Ravenwing – are held in awe by their allies and enemies alike.According to the rumors, they will really build the line out with a bunch of new Kroot, some form of mounted models, and even a big gun to go along with it! Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. This box is off to a strong start with a Primaris Chaplain to lead the patrol, he looks badass, there’s no other way to put it, it’s a fantastic model.

But then, when ready, you can go back to them, add in some chunky and standard highlights and, if you’re feeling brave, get some fine and spot highlights in there for extra definition. Famous for their intractable gunlines, favoritism towards plasma weapons, and keeping some big secrets, I think we have a theme we can work with here to get to 2000 points.Wondering if there is at least an upgrade sprue in here, since it wouldn't even be good value if there isn't.

Don’t forget you can carve-up this list as needed for any detachment requirements you might need to hit. Given that they'll likely be sold out 90% of the time, it probably wouldn't be too hard to offload them. It’s still got a little mobility with the faster elements and don’t be afraid to “deepstrike” in those Deathwing Terminators either. Per usual, we’ll leave a budget in there for wargear but we’re probably going to be pushing pretty close to the max on this one. It is a new launch box with all the new Kroot stuff and two characters, and one is supposed to be a melee-focused Ethereal. If it has 2 of the new upgrade sprues and still cost the same as current combat patrols it's the same value as the current one, more or less. Finally, I want to add something that’s going to give us better chance at cracking open armor at range. I dont think it's a bad intro kit, though having the DA specific new bladeguard types would have been nice. In this case, you absolutely could have — especially if you wanted to fill out the Inceptors and Intercessors. It is our mission to bring you the latest from the miniature wargaming scene, from narrative missions, hobby how-to tutorials, battle reports, unboxings and reviews, retro flashbacks, news, rumors, and more.
