My critical comments hereafter about Steiner’s “autofocus” marketing are in no way intended to belittle the quality of Steiner binoculars, some of which I find very good. Really useful in with my job when I have to grab them to quickly read a license plate or identify a suspect. I'd lusted after a pair of those 7 x 30 Commander XPs after trying them out in my local Jessop's (RIP), and loved everything about them apart from the fact that the reticle seemed to have no in/out adjustment and was therefore not in focus for my short-sighted eyes when I focused the bins on distant objects (otherwise they'd be in my house right now!

It’s a credit limit that’s attached to your PayPal account which you can use for your online purchases. everything from about 60m-70m up to infinity is perfectly“sharp and clear”; below, everything is increasingly blurred as you observe objects at shorter distances. The binoculars have 7x magnification and feature a 30 mm lens diameter, which ensures that plenty of light reaches your eyes, rendering a bright image. shafts of light exiting the ocular lenses counter it to a degree and ensure that your eyes receive enough light in all but the worst light conditions when your pupils are dilated and thus larger than the exit pupil. An integrated compass features bearing marks that don’t interfere with the field of view, and is stabilized to increase visibility during rolling seas. The covering makes the binoculars pleasant to hold and provides a comfortable and intuïtive viewing experience.

Legendary ruggedness Due to durable Makrolon housing made of polycarbonate that withstands impacts up to 11G, floating prism bearings for shock absorption, water pressure proofness up to 5m, nitrogen pressure filling against fogging inside, temperature range from -20°C to +70°C. High-quality glass and coatings deliver a bright, vibrant view with extremely low levels of color fringing and almost no softening around the edges of the view. I'll agree that this is a very minor point, but the many, many, many straps that I have tested that don't have these can often feel rather stiff and get in the way much more frequently and so it is something that I do certainly appreciate. The cylindrical silicone eyecups offer the user excellent viewing comfort and reliable protection from stray light and wind from the side. It is equipped with 30mm objective lenses and 7x magnification which provides a steady view in rough seas, with a bright image guaranteed and excellent contrast and sharp detail.Active in over 80 countries across the world, Steiner-Optik has been synonymous with the highest quality production and handcrafted precision for over 70 years.

By attaching a strap to the binoculars' universal belt attachment, they are always within easy reach.

Having said all that, for me and how I used them the FOV was plenty wide enough and I never had an issue with being able to quickly locate and then follow small fast-moving birds (like a kingfisher) on the bank of the river from the kayak. if I focus at objects about 25-30 m away, objects are sharp between about 20m and 40m, beyond that they get increasingly blurred with increasing observation distance.
