Washed up on shore along with seashells, pearls and starfish, the rarely seen blue logo (last seen on Now 38) makes this beautifully composed artwork to be one of the finest and vibrant summer volumes of all time. The latter contains a new retro-70s Now logo design and artwork which complements its 80s sister Yearbook series.
The tie-in television programmes are a month by month video playlist of tracks, from one year previously featured on a Now Yearbook album, with Bruno Brookes presenting. November 2020) David Bowie, Patti Labelle and Michael McDonald, and the Real Roxanne are the tracks that are missing.
Not a bad volume for me and includes some great songs, though I did think 2008 was one of the poorer years of the 00's. From 2003, and until 2010, there was one special edition released each year, covering a decade (80s, 90s and 00s), or a cross section of big hits celebrating the Now series ( Now Decades, Now Years, Now Dance) - however, from 2011, they became much more frequent, and in 2017, there were fifteen different titles released. This album includes 16 top charting tracks from Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Imagine Dragons, and many more.
There were a couple of good dances to this on Strictly at the time, so I mainly associate it with that. Jackson 5, Billy Ocean and The Real Thing bring the first disc to a close – but not before some stomping glam pop from Sweet, Mud, Wizzard and T.Some of the Special Editions have identical names, although a few of these titles are followed by their year of release. Released in association with the Official Chart Company to "celebrate 70 years of the official UK singles chart".
